rainforests, coqui frogs and mofongo in puerto rico

last week, we got back from a 10-day caribbean trip with dylan, where he got to sample papaya, banana and kiwi for the first time. we also got to meet up with john's friend kory, who took us around the island to taste more adult foods, like mofongo (garlic mashed plantains), lechon pork, bacalaito salt cod fritters, conch dishes and lots of bananas and coco frios. the time spent together was oh so much fun and heavenly, as were the pina coladas and drinks made with don q rum. it was lovely meeting kory's wife grisselle, and their baby also named dylan, one month older than our dylan. some pics of old san juan:
